Healing in Africa - Siri Dharma Kaur complete

During the many years that black African singing was banned and suppressed, choirs became a vital platform for human expression. The Alex Community Choir was formed in the early 1980's at a time of immense political change. Despite interruptions, the choir has met again and again over the past 20 years and has taken part in many singing festivals. It consists of 25 members who draw their cohesion from the same sense of spirituality and the same desire for a strong community. This CD is a celebration of music and spirit that connects people from diverse communities and backgrounds and reminds us of what we all have in common. The chants and songs come straight from the heart, warming the mind, inspiring and beautiful to either sing along to or just listen to.
