Experience the burgeoning Age of Aquarius with music that invites you to immerse yourself in the divine flow. Mata Mandir Singh is impressively back with his album Turn of the Age after a long musical absence and once again enriches the genre of mantra music with his devoted singing, which is carried in a refreshingly new way by the special characteristics of Mata Mandir Singh's music: his unmistakable voice, the variety, a multi-instrumental network of sounds, and brilliant musical ideas. On this CD we hear the sonorous melodies of the Indian zither, violin, guitar, penny wistle and tabla, with which Mata Mandir Singh skillfully equips sometimes soft, relaxed ballads, sometimes powerful rhythmic chants. Mata Mandir Singh says about this CD: This CD is dedicated to the children of the beginning Age of Aquarius. In the 1960s, a stellar configuration could be observed that heralded the transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. Many young people rebelled against the existing systems, which they saw as oppressing the true human spirit. Many grew their hair and beards and began to meditate without really knowing why. Marching against the wars for profit, they sought new ways of expressing their truth. Many took drugs or died young, many ended up in prison, and many took up spiritual practice to sustain their energy. Some listeners may remember the anthem "Age of Aquarius" from the musical "Hair". The astrological configuration sung about in the song happened just a few months before I wrote this. I received an e-mail about it that day, and sat on the roof terrace singing my own version of this song to the stars, the moon, the village and the village dogs all night. I always say at my concerts: 'I've waited 30 years to sing this song and now you just have to hear it, because now I'm going to sing it!' So I hope you will enjoy the version on this CD." tracks:
