"Jap Man" takes its name from the Kirtan opera produced by Mahadev, which tells the epic story of a musician and gardener who was dispossessed of his land. This title takes up the Sikh mantra "Jap Man sat Nam sada Sat Nam" and highlights the self-representation of a rebellious Jap Man, who displays his connection to the divine mother and is always equipped with a watering can - a harmless weapon, but always ready to douse the selfish inflammations of beings hungry for strong sensations.
