Mahadev Ok

My name is Mahadev…
I want to share with you the blessing I have received – the grace to sing for you. I feel this grace every time we gather in a circle to raise our vibrations through Bhakti Yoga, through chanting mantras, and through the deep states of meditation to which the voice and sacred sound invite us.

Many of you have known me for several years now. I travel through your countries, your cities and your villages – sometimes alone, sometimes accompanied by wonderful orchestras – to sing the Naam, the name of the Divine, and to offer the spiritual songs that I compose along the way.

If we haven't met yet, I'd like to briefly describe the path that has led me here. I grew up in a spiritual family between France and Switzerland, and from a young age, my travels took me to England, the United States, and India. As a musician and singer-songwriter, I later trained in yoga—especially Bhakti Yoga—after discovering the art of living and the art of mindfulness in the presence of Thích Nhất Hạnh.

Bhakti Yoga reveals itself through two intertwined paths. One springs from the ancient spiritual traditions of India and addresses the divine with devotion, love, and music. The other utilizes the sacred vibrations of mantras to deepen meditation and lead us to a clearer vision and understanding of existence.
By uniting these two currents, my practice—rooted in music and sacred chants—could be described as an intersection of Tantra, Yoga, and art. Creativity is central to this journey, and I am deeply grateful to be able to offer kirtans, concerts, and moments where the arts converge, such as during an operatic kirtan where music, voice, and spirit merge into one.
But no words can truly describe who I am, for the essence lies not in description, but in practice – in the act of singing itself. I warmly invite you to join me for a kirtan or other spiritual gathering, where we can rest together in the present moment and allow the infinite joy of life in unity to be expressed through us.
