Mother - Aykanna complete

Aykanna's album Mother is a wonderful collection of Kundalini Yoga mantras and sacred, beneficent chants that induce that peace of mind that is so important in our day and age. The subtitle of this album sums up the essence of this music perfectly: Honoring Mother Earth and the Divine Feminine.
The duo Aykanna: Pauline Sukhdev and Akahdahmah met for the first time in the late 1990s, since then they have been on a musically healing mission together. According to the wisdom of the Sufi mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan, “Music was used to heal the mind, character and soul, for it is the health of the soul that brings health to the body.”
Music has always been the healing force in the lives of both artists, and with the beginning of the duo Aykanna, a channel has emerged through which they can share their harmonious and inspired sounds with the world. Akahdahmah plays a variety of hand percussion instruments, including a wonderful UDU clay drum from West Africa. This has a deep and full vibration, the perfect basis for Puline Sukhdev's soulful chants and acoustic guitar. Aykanna's mission can best be described in the following words: To awaken soul consciousness through music in order to activate the healing and creative power of love in all of us!
