Suite Kirtan Soheila - Simran Kaur Khalsa complete

Simran Kaur's father sang the Kirtan Soheila, the lovely night prayer of the Sikh Dharma tradition, in English every night while she was growing up. She sang it to herself on the way to school, later to her own children and to her husband - and now she sings it to you! This is the wonderful night poem for peace, devotion and blessings.

The Kirtan Soheila creates protection, a peaceful sleep and allows you to let go. Yogi Bhajan said about the Kirtan Soheila: “Singing or reciting the Kirtan Sohila every night before going to bed calms the mind, protects your night and brings a wonderful morning. It avoids nightmares and creates a protective shield.”

The Kirtan Sohila is also a powerful mantric prayer at the time of death, or when a person has just passed away, as it protects and guides the soul on its way to its true home. Simran Kaur sang this piece during a funeral service and was asked to record it - this is how the musical journey began, which found its culmination in this CD.
